Brunson Arrested For Allegedly Attempting To Steal Merchandise From Walmart

WARSAW — A Fort Wayne man was recently arrested for allegedly attempting to steal over $400 in merchandise from the Warsaw Walmart.
Corey Allen Brunson, 43, Fort Wayne, is charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and theft with a prior conviction, a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 13, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a theft report at Walmart. 911 dispatch advised a man attempted to leave the store with over $400 in unpaid merchandise. The officer was told the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.
According to court documents, the officer located the suspect and identified him as Brunson, who admitted to attempting to steal items from Walmart.
A loss prevention employee said Brunson left the store with two backpacks full of unpaid merchandise. When he was confronted by employees, Brunson did not say anything, set the backpacks down, and left the store. The amount of unpaid merchandise left in the backpacks was $419.57.
Surveillance footage from the store confirmed employees’ reports of Brunson attempting to steal items from Walmart.
Brunson was previously convicted of theft in Kosciusko County in September 2023.
