Kosciusko Community YMCA Launches Free Rock Steady Boxing Program

NORTH WEBSTER — The Kosciusko Community YMCA is excited to announce the launch of its Rock Steady Boxing program at the North Webster YMCA, a transformative, non-contact exercise program specifically designed to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
The program, which focuses on boxing-inspired exercises, aims to slow the progression of Parkinson’s symptoms and enhance participants’ overall daily movement and abilities. Classes will be offered free of charge through the end of 2024 for both YMCA members and non-members.
Enrolling In The Program:
To enroll, participants must sign up online and attend one of the evaluation dates listed below. Each participant will complete a 45-minute evaluation to determine the best class level for them. During this time, participants will also receive the class schedule.
Evaluation Dates and Locations:
Nov. 19 from 4-6 p.m. | North Webster YMCA
Nov. 21 from 4-7 p.m. | North Webster YMCA
Nov. 26 from 2-3:30 p.m. | Parkview Warsaw YMCA
Nov. 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. | North Webster YMCA
Program Start Date
Classes will begin the first week of December.
Program Schedule and Details
Rock Steady Boxing classes will be held at the North Webster YMCA, at the following times:
Afternoon Class: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Morning Class: Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
“We are thrilled to bring Rock Steady Boxing to North Webster,” said Tracy Frick, Director of Healthy Living at Kosciusko Community YMCA. “This program offers people with Parkinson’s the opportunity to take control of their health in a supportive, empowering environment. We’re proud to offer this for free in 2024 to ensure everyone who needs it can participate.”
Participants are encouraged to attend at least two classes per week, and they are welcome to join all three. For those planning to attend every session, the YMCA asks that they sign up for both AM and PM classes.
