Wakarusa Man Dead After Elkhart County Motorcycle Accident

ELKHART — A Wakarusa man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle accident in Elkhart County on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Around 5:31 a.m., officers responded to an accident at CR 17 and SR 120. According to a press release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, Krystal Gunter, 29, Elkhart, was driving southbound on CR 17, in the left turn lane. Joseph Klein, 61, Wakarusa, was traveling northbound on CR 17 at SR 120. Gunter failed to yield the right of way and her vehicle collided with Klein’s Kawasaki motorcycle in a head on collision.
Klein was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with internal injuries. Gunter was cited for no insurance and failing to yield the right of way.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office received an update that Klein was pronounced deceased at Elkhart General Hospital.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and Elkhart County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
