Elkhart County

Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

• 5:31 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, CR 17 and SR 120, Elkhart County. Drivers: Krystal Gunter, 29, Elkhart; and Joseph Klein, 61, Wakarusa. Gunter failed to yield the right of way and her vehicle collided with Klein’s Kawasaki motorcycle in a head on collision. Klein was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with internal injuries. Gunter was cited for no insurance and failing to yield the right of way. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office received an update that Klein was pronounced deceased at Elkhart General Hospital.

Fulton County

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

• 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 7000 block South SR 25, Fulton. Drivers: Gordon Heeter, 44, West Lafayette; and James Rush, 59, Logansport. Heeter was actively slowing down while entering the Town of Fulton, for an unknown reason Rush did not slow down striking the rear end of the Tacoma which forced the truck into a tree. Heeter was transported from the scene via medical helicopter. Rush refused medical attention at the scene.

Marshall County

Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

• 12:02 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, US 21 and 12th Road, Plymouth. Driver: Maria Mendez, 43, address unknown; and Rodger Walker, age and address unknown. Walker’s vehicle slowed to turn and was rear-ended by Mendez’s vehicle.
