PIERCETON — A man was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence, resulting in serious injury to another driver.
Pascual Aca Cuahuizo, 40, Westfield, is charged with causing serious bodily injury when operating a motor vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more, a level 5 felony; and knowingly or intentionally operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, a class C misdemeanor.
On Oct. 16, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a vehicle accident at US 30 and CR 250S in Pierceton. Aca Cuahuizo was driving a Volkswagen Jetta when he failed to yield the right-of-way to a Dodge Ram driven by Jackson Becher.

Aca Cuahuizo told deputies he drank one shot of tequila about two hours prior to the accident. He failed one field sobriety test and tested 0.18% BrAC on a portable breath test. Certified chemical test results are pending.
Becher was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital after sustaining a broken clavicle, abdominal and chest wall contusions, and a rotator cuff injury. Leonardo Aca Cuahuizo, a passenger in Pascual’s vehicle, sustained abrasions to his face.
