Edward W. Reed
Edward Wayne Reed, 54, of Mentone, was called home to be with the Lord at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne. He was born on July 20, 1970, in Warsaw, to Terry Lee and Debra J. (Bowser) Reed.
He was a 1988 graduate of Douglas High School in South Dakota. Ed married the love of his life, Amy Voth, and proudly enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and then the Army. Ed served faithfully for 13 years.
Ed and Amy lovingly raised four children together, who later blessed them with 13 grandchildren. Ed was a proud and dedicated Papa who enjoyed watching his grandchildren in various sports and activities.
He was a loyal employee of Circle M Spring of Warsaw for nine years. He was a former assistant track coach for Grace College and Seminary for 13 years. Ed enjoyed drawing and watching Notre Dame football in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; children, Lauren and husband Patrick Allen, Anthony and wife Kirstin Reed, Whitney and husband Zach Beck, and Mikaela and husband Michael Lyons; mother, Deb Reed; brothers, Dathan and wife Teresa Reed and Ryan Reed; and sister, Terra and husband Eric Kohler; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Terry Reed; and grandparents, George and June Reed and Wayne and Phyllis Bowser.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Samuel Yieter officiating.
The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, with graveside military rites performed by the Warsaw American Legion.
Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
