Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 5:43 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, West US 30, east of North CR 950W, Etna Green. Driver: Shaila M. McCarty, 31, North Michigan Street Apartment 302, Plymouth. McCarty’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.

• 7:47 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, South SR 14, north of West CR 1200S, Akron. Driver: Cody W. Davidson, 28, Congress Street, Wabash. Davidson’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.

• 8:02 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, North CR 100E, at the intersection of East CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Rosa Rico, 50, East Wellington Drive, Warsaw. Rico’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 7:11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, SR 13, north of East CR 1000S, Claypool. Driver: Daniel J. Coil, 46, South CR 350E, Warsaw. Coil’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 1:03 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, East CR 250S, west of East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Driver: Christopher D. Spangle, 39, East CR 250S, Pierceton. Spangle swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting a squirrel, which caused his vehicle to leave the roadway and hit four mailboxes. Spangle was later arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $5,000.

• 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, North Main Street, at the intersection of East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Drivers: Andrew Stevens, 65, West Hillside Drive, Syracuse; and Austin W. Long, 30, East CR 800N, North Webster. Stevens was attempting to turn south on North Main Street but did not see Long’s vehicle traveling north on North Main Street. Damage up to $10,000.

• 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, SR 25, Mentone. Driver: Kevin F. McSherry, 65, West CR 600S, Claypool. McSherry’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 7:37 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, East CR 1150N, Milford. Driver: Logan B. Raber, 16, CR 143, Ligonier. A deer ran into the side of Raber’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

• 12:59 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 204 E. Main St., Mentone. Drivers: Christopher W. Legus, 48, South SR 19, Mentone; and Gaeta D. Victorina, 47, North SR 19, Etna Green. Legus was attempting to back his vehicle into a parking space when he hit Victorina’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.

• midnight Saturday, Oct. 26, 9850 N. SR 13, Syracuse. Driver: William N. Van Natta, 66, East Hatchery Road, Syracuse. Van Natta was traveling in a parking lot when he hit a cement pillar that had a light post. Van Natta was later arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Damage up to $25,000.

• 8:14 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, West CR 350S, at the intersection of South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Rebecca L. Waugh, 42, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Waugh’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 7:13 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, South SR 25, at the intersection of West CR 150S, Warsaw. Drivers: Zane P. Lemon, 30, West South Street, Mexico; and Tyson W. Prater, 24, Lewis Drive, Macy. Lemon’s vehicle rear-ended Prater’s. Damage up to $5,000.

• 6:13 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, South County  Farm Road, at the intersection of West CR 300S, Warsaw. Driver: Joshua R. Weidner, 39, West Union Street, Claypool. Weidner’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.

• 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 8345 S. SR 19, Akron. Drivers: Jenna E. Prater, 16, North Whittberger Street, Akron; and Camila S. Augilar, 17, West Old Road 30 Lot 43E, Warsaw. Prater’s and Augilar’s vehicles both collided in a parking lot. Damage up to $5,000.

• 8:11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, SR 25, at the intersection of Rozella Road, Warsaw. Driver: Brian D. Pyle, 52, West SR 25, Mentone. Pyle’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
