Rochester Man Dies In Crash With Train

TIPPECANOE — On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a fatal automobile accident.
At approximately 10:14 a.m., deputies responded to the area of State Road 331 and Illion Street for a report of a pick-up truck that had been struck by a train.
After an investigation, it was determined that a white 2020 Ford F150 being driven by Maurice Horn, 88, of Rochester was traveling south on State Road 331. Horn then went around rail road crossing arms and was struck by an east bound Norfolk Southern train. Horn was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Bourbon Police Department, Tippecanoe Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Coroner’s Office.
