Man Arrested After Using Loaded Firearm To Threaten Person In Milford
Staff Report
MILFORD — A man was arrested for allegedly using a loaded firearm to threaten a person in Milford.
Timothy James Bammel, 66, Laurel, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and pointing a firearm at another, a level 6 felony.
On April 15, a Milford Police officer spoke with a man about Bammel pointing a shotgun at him. The man said he was sitting in his vehicle when Bammel walked up to his vehicle, yelled, and pointed a shotgun at him.
According to court documents, Bammel threatened to shoot the man if he didn’t leave. The man said he moved his vehicle to avoid being shot. A witness said she saw Bammel point a gun tucked under his shoulder toward the man.
Bammel told the officer he was concerned about children playing nearby and grabbed his shotgun to confront the man. He said the gun was loaded, but claimed he did not point the firearm directly at the man.
A person who spoke with Bammel about the incident said Bammel told her he did point the shotgun at the man and ordered him out of a parking lot.
Bammel has already been arrested and released on bond.
A photo of Bammel was unavailable for publication.
