NORTH WEBSTER — A procession of skeletons, monsters, ghosts and more took off from North Webster’s town park in the first annual Halloween costume parade Saturday, Oct. 19. The parade was followed by a witches paddle, in which folks wearing witch costumes paddle around Webster Lake.
According to LeighAnne Jessop, the witches paddle started off with just a few women three years ago, but has grown so much it was decided to add a parade for everyone to participate in this time. Jessop, who helped organize the event, stated there are plans to turn next year’s parade and witches paddle into a fall fundraiser.
After the parade circled back to the park, the witches gathered up paddles instead of broomsticks and took off across Webster Lake on their kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Meanwhile, the other guests helped themselves to some free cookies and juice or got a drink from The River Coffeehouse’s traveling coffee truck.
