More Events Added To Area Halloween List

WARSAW — The list of area Halloween events continues to grow.
A list of trick-or-treat times and events as known thus far is below. To add an item to a future list, please email [email protected].
Akron
- Costume judging for the Henry Township Fire Department’s costume contest is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the fire station.
- Akron’s trick-or-treat times are 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- Hartzler’s Halloween Bash is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in Hartzler Funeral Home’s parking lot, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. There will be a trunk-or-treat, food, games and more. It’s free, and everyone is welcome.
Atwood
- The Atwood Fire Department has a trick-or-treat event from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Bourbon
- A community trunk-or-treat is Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Triton Junior-High School parking lot, 300 Triton Drive. Kids with special needs may come from 5-6 p.m. All kids may come from 6-7 p.m. Car parking and setup is from 4-5 p.m. Scary costumes and flashy lights aren’t allowed. Costumes are not required.
- Bourbon’s trick-or-treating will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Claypool
- Claypool’s trick-or-treat hours are from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- There will also be a trunk-or-treat event along Main Street from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Etna Green
- Etna Green’s trick-or-treat hours are from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The Lions Club of Etna Green’s annual hayride event will be at 7 p.m. at Heritage Park.
Fulton
- The Fulton-Liberty Lions Club’s costume contest is at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Fulton Community Center.
- Trick-or-treating in Fulton is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Kewanna
- Kewanna’s trick-or-treating is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Leesburg
- Leesburg’s trick-or-treat times are 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Mentone
- Trick-or treating in Mentone is 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- Judging for the Mentone Chamber of Commerce’s costume contest is 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Mentone Elementary School.
Milford
- Milford’s trick-or-treating is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- Kosciusko Masonic Lodge 418, 404 W. Syracuse St., Milford, has a community trunk-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- A community trunk-or-treat is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Milford Community Building parking lot off Main Street. To sign up to host a trunk, call (574) 658-3066 or email [email protected].
Nappanee
- American Legion Post 154, 201 W. Lincoln St., has a trunk-or-treat from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- Nappanee’s trick-or-treating times are 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- The Nappanee Public Library, 157 N. Main St., has a special story walk from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- The Boys and Girls Club of Nappanee, 900 E. Centennial St., has Halloween activities from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, with a costume contest at 7:15 p.m. hosted by the Nappanee Parks and Recreation Department.
North Manchester
- North Manchester’s trick-or-treat times are from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
North Webster
- North Webster Boy Scout Troop 726 is having its A-Maze-ing Haunted House from 7-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 18 and 19, and Oct. 25 and 26, at the Mermaid Festival grounds. Admission is $7 for those 5 and older.
- A Halloween costume parade will be in North Webster at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, starting at the town park and going down Huntington Street to SR 13, to Washington Street, then Dixie Drive back to the park. A coffee truck will have cider and doughnuts at the park for sale. The Witches’ Paddle will follow the event whereby people dress in costumes and paddle on the lake.
- The North Webster Community Center’s Haunted Halls is 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
- The North Webster Church of God, 302 N. Main St., has a trunk-or-treat from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. There will be candy, games and more.
- North Webster’s trick-or-treating is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Pierceton
- OMCO, 1 Arnolt Drive, has a community trunk-or-treat from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, with setup at 1 p.m.
- Pierceton’s trick-or-treat hours are from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Rochester
- The Rochester Downtown Partnership’s Boofest is 4-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Kids may trick-or-treat at downtown businesses then.
- Rochester’s trick-or-treating will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Sidney
- Sidney’s trick-or-treat hours are 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Silver Lake
- The Silver Lake Fire Department will be giving out chili and cookies starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the fire station. There will also be a costume contest at 6:30 p.m., with three age groups judged: ages 0-12; 13-19; and 20 and older. There will be prizes for first and second place and the youngest and oldest in costume.
- Silver Lake’s trick-or-treat times are 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- A community trunk-or-treat is 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Our Hometown Station, 201 S. Jefferson St. The town and Silver Lake are helping with the event. To sign up to have a trunk, email [email protected].
South Whitley
- South Whitley’s trick-or-treat times are 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Syracuse
- Syracuse will have a trick-or-treat trail from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Lakeside Park. This is similar to a trunk-or-treat event.
- The town’s official trick-or-treat hours are 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Warsaw
- The Kosciusko County Fairgrounds’ Soul Takers Acres Haunted House and Zombies Alive Paintball Arcade are 8-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 18 and 19, and Oct. 25 and 26. A special lights-on version of Soul Takers Acres is 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
- Main Street Warsaw’s Spooktacular is set for Friday, Oct. 25. It will be from 5-8 p.m. with trick-or-treating at downtown businesses and a costume contest and vendors.
- The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, 1350 W. Center St., has a Halloween event on Saturday, Oct. 26. All ages are welcome. A chili cook-off is noon to 3 p.m., with karaoke from 6-10 p.m. and costume contest judging at 9 p.m. Categories include best couples/group costumes, funniest costume and best overall costume.
- Living Hope Ministries church will have a fall festival and trunk-or-treat from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at 595 E. 350N, Warsaw. There will be candy, face painting, games, crafts, food, a cake walk and a bouncy house. People are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes.
- First Christian Church of Warsaw, 115 Park Ridge Drive, has a community trunk-or-treat from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. A sensory friendly time is at 6 p.m. There will be pizza for $1 per slice and Igloo ice cream for sale.
- Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, 900 Provident Drive, has a community trunk-or-treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. There will be hot cocoa, candy and cider.
- Warsaw’s trick-or-treat times are 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Winona Lake
- Winona Lake Limitless Park is having a pumpkin decorating contest. People may use their own real pumpkins or purchase some from WLLP by by stopping in at the parks’ office at 1590 Park Ave. Those from Winona Lake are $15 and include a pumpkin decorating kit and candy. People should bring their pumpkins to WLLP from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26. Voting starts that day at 1 p.m. and closes at 7 p.m., with winners announced on Monday, Oct. 28, on Facebook.
- Grace College’s FunFest is set for 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Gordon Health and Wellness Center, 100 Publishers Drive. It’s a trick-or-treat style event, with carnival-style games, craft-based activities, prizes and a bounce house. The theme of this year’s event is Superheroes. Grace’s student-led ministry called & Action (formerly known as Serve) is putting on the event.
- Trick-or-treating in Winona Lake will be 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
- Celebration United Methodist Church is having a drive-thru trick-or-treat event on Thursday, Oct. 31. It will be 5:30-8 p.m. at the church at 1250 S. 250E, Winona Lake. There will be items given out for kids, dogs and cats.
