Donald Slone

Donald Lee Slone, age 80, of Warsaw, entered his heavenly home at 8:58 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1944, in Willow Run, Mich., to Columbus and Anna Slone. His family is rejoicing for his reunion in heaven with the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Arvillia. He was also preceded in death by his mother, father and a brother.

Don worked at Dalton Foundry for 33 years before retiring in 1996. Upon retirement, he spent many years lovingly tending to his vegetable garden and sharing the bounty with family and friends. He also took up beekeeping and enjoying the outdoors. He most enjoyed the time spent being a loving and devoted Papaw to his granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

Left behind to remember his loving legacy are his two daughters, Tammy (Paul) Elliott and Rhonda (Kreg) Warren. Also left with loving memories of their cherished Papaw are Amanda (John) Landis, Stefanie Elliott, Elizabeth (Jordan) Littlejohn, Alexandra Elliott, Ashton (Jeff) Himes and Karleigh (Jacob) Carson. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Joe, Olivia, Bella, Noah, Deacon, Emerson, Nolan, Gryffin and Addison; and eight siblings, Ronald (Deb) Slone, Virginia (Roger) Brindle, Janet (Curt) Flannery, Richmond (Avis) Slone, Jeff (Liz) Slone, Curt (Robin) Slone, Rick (Renee) Slone and Christina (Dave) Morehouse.

Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Warsaw, is entrusted with caring for Donald and the family. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, at the funeral home. A Life Celebration will immediately follow starting at noon with Ricky Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool. Memorial contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
