Happening Today: Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital Holds Ribbon Cutting, Open House

WARSAW — The community is invited to attend a ribbon cutting and open house today at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital to mark the completion of a major expansion project to enhance patient care access. Hospital and community leadership, including medical staff, board, city and chamber representatives, will make comments.
The event will take place Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the main entrance of Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, 2101 E. DuBois Drive, Warsaw.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a community open house from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital is completing an expansion of a $30 million capital investment, which includes 25,700 square feet of new construction and renovations.
Surgical services expansion and updates include:
- Expanded pre- and post-surgical bays with additional spaces for increased patient privacy and room for family members
- Expanded sterile processing area with new technology for faster equipment sterilization
- Renovation of existing operating room so that surgeons can accommodate more complex cases, allowing patients to be scheduled sooner and remain close to home when surgery is needed
Also completed:
- An expanded, redesigned public entry point for improved patient access
- Renovations to all patient rooms, public spaces and nursing stations on the medical, surgical and intensive care units
- Extensive updates to the hospital façade
- New campus exterior signage to enhance patient wayfinding
