Wawasee swimming to host inaugural alumni meet
The Wawasee High School swimming and diving teams will be hosting a new event to start their upcoming season in the inaugural Wawasee High School Swim Team Alumni Meet. The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Wawasee Middle School pool. Warm-ups begin at 9 a.m. and the meet is at 10 a.m. The alumni meet is open to past swimmers, divers, coaches, managers and supporters of Wawasee.

Alumni who do not wish to swim or dive are still encouraged to attend. Participants will also be asked to share their graduation year and favorite memories from their time on the team, which will be read aloud during breaks between events.
Since many alumni are now a little older, the events will be short, with ample recovery time between races to ensure everyone can participate and enjoy the day.
Events include the 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 100 individual medley and diving. Relay teams may also be formed if enough participants are eager to take part.
Alumni can sign up for as many events as they wish, with a $5 fee per event. All proceeds and any additional donations will directly support Wawasee’s swim program, helping to fund equipment and team suits.
More information and event updates can be found at the Wawasee Swimming Alumni page on Facebook.
