Area Accident Reports
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 9:54 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, North SR 15, north of Gilliam Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Armando Tlahuetl, 34, Highlander Drive, Warsaw. Officers responded to a report of a bicyclist in the left-hand lane of SR 15. The cyclist, identified as Johnathon Eduardo, 30, Winona Lake, sustained a head injury, as well as other injuries to his body. It was later discovered Tlahuetl was driving when he hit Eduardo’s bicycle and left the scene. Tlahuetl was later stopped and arrested for allegedly for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene. Eduardo was taken to Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne for his injuries. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 831 E. Smith St., Warsaw. Driver: Daniel L. Butler, 43, East Smith Street, Warsaw. Butler’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting two mailboxes and a “no parking” sign. Damage under $1,000.
- 5:57 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, East Center Street, at the intersection of North Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kristy J. Newton, 61, East Pontiac Drive, Warsaw; Tyler R. Miller, 29, Apple Court, Winona Lake; and Andrew T. Ross, 20, West CR 550S, Claypool. Newton’s vehicle rear-ended Miller’s vehicle, which caused Miller’s vehicle to rear-end Ross’. Damage up to $10,000.
- 3:21 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, SR 25, at the intersection of South Washington Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Parker A. Dippon, 16, Barrington Place, Warsaw; and Zarissa E. Way, 30, West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Dippon pulled into the SR 25 and South Washington Street intersection and was hit by Way’s vehicle. Dippon said he stopped at the intersection and that eastbound traffic on SR 25 was backed up, with one vehicle leaving distance to avoid blocking the intersection. He said he believed the intersection was clear when he entered it. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:38 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, SR 15, north of East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Maribel R. Alvarado, 51, Sharon Street, Warsaw; and Ronald D. Yoder, 71, Dausha Court, Warsaw. Alvarado was attempting to turn west into a business parking lot when she turned in front of Yoder’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:03 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, US 30, at the intersection of Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Donald J. Denton, 64, Braeburn Drive, New Haven; and Ahmed M. Hussein, 43, 32nd Street Sir S., Moorhead, Minn. Denton’s vehicle rear-ended a trailer on Hussein’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:21 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, Arlington Lane, east of Petro Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Heather Hileman, 39, Arlington Lane, Warsaw. Hileman was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 3:06 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, US 6, west of Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Bremen. Drivers: Jaydon Zimmerman, Walkerton; and Walter Ponce-Guerrero, Chicago, Ill. Zimmerman’s vehicle rear-ended Ponce-Guerrero’s vehicle. Two unnamed patients were transported by EMS for complaints of back pain.
