Livestrong at the Kosciusko Community YMCA
News Release
WARSAW — Livestrong at the YMCA is a small-group program developed and established in partnership with the Livestrong Foundation and assists those who are living with, through, or beyond cancer to strengthen their spirit, mind, and body.
This free program, available at the Kosciusko Community YMCA, is designed to help anyone 18 and older and living with, through, or beyond cancer reclaim their total health.
Upcoming classes take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 22-Jan. 23. Registration is ongoing.
Participants work with YMCA staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve their goals such as building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving confidence and self-esteem.
The program comes with a free 12-month membership to the YMCA, and participants will attend two classes a week for 12 weeks. Exercises are individualized and focus on cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance and flexibility.
