Milford Public Library — Fall Story Time Begins Sept. 25

MILFORD — Fall Story Time will begin Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Milford Public Library with “Fall Colors.” Come to the 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. session. Story time is an excellent time to introduce your preschool child to the love of reading. Visiting the library is a wonderful habit to develop. Children ages 3-6 are invited to come and listen to great stories, make fun craft, and enjoy delicious, nutritious snacks. They will meet new friends and experience the fun of listening to stories that are varied in their characters, cultures and adventures. Register in the children’s department today. Spread the word among friends and family.

Oct. 2 — Whooo likes story time?
Oct. 9 — Apples
Oct. 16 — Pumpkins
Fall Break — No story time Oct. 21-26
Oct. 30 — Batty about books
Nov. 6 — Scarecrows
Nov. 13 — Squirrels and nuts
Nov. 20 — Annual Thanksgiving Feast: Bring a snack to share and a friend to listen to stories about Thanksgiving.
Sign Up For Library Card
Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month this September with Milford Public Library. They are inviting everyone to discover the incredible resources and opportunities available at your local library by signing up for a library card.
If you sign up for a library card at the Milford Public Library during the month of September, your name will be entered into a drawing for a prize giveaway on Oct. 1. Be sure to bring a photo ID with your correct mailing address. It takes about five minutes to get a library card. The first 30 days are a probationary period and you may check out four items on your new card. Two DVDs, two books or any combination. TV series of seasons may not be checked out the first 30 days on your card.
LEGO Challenge
September’s LEGO Challenge is to build a leaf. Children ages 3-15 are invited to participate in the monthly LEGO Challenge. If you make a beautiful fall leaf, submit your photo to [email protected] by 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25. They will announce the winner Oct. 1. Winners get a new LEGO kit.
Purdue Extension Program
Join in for a free educational program about common scams, steps you can take to protect yourself and your information and how to report scams and fraud. Has someone contacted you unexpectedly? Have they promised you something? Have they asked you to do something? Come and find out how to handle requests for personal information at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Milford Public Library. Registration is available at the adult circulation desk or call (574) 658-4312 to register.
Candy Bar Donations Needed
The library plans to have a week-long Halloween activity Oct. 28-Nov. 1. They would like to give the children a full-size candy bar for completing the activity. They will need a lot of candy bars. Anyone 18 and under can participate in the Halloween activity. Bring your donation to the adult circulation desk before Oct. 28.
