Last Downtown Wabash Farmers Market Of Season Sept. 28
News Release
WABASH — Shoppers are invited to close out the 2024 Downtown Wabash Farmers Market by supporting their local farmers and small businesses on from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 28, at the corner of Cass and Market streets. The final market marks 17 years of operations led by Downtown Wabash Inc., a nationally accredited Main Street Organization.
More than 40 vendors will feature handmade, homemade and homegrown items, including fresh produce, meats, dairy products, home goods, baked items, plants and artisan wares. Shoppers are invited to experience more than vendor offerings, including live music, food trucks, Kids Corner activities, demonstrations and more. Financial assistance programs including SNAP and Double Up Indiana will be accepted at select vendor booths. Pets are welcome at the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market, and the campus is tobacco-free.
One of the longtime vendors is Joey and Katey Till with Morning Glories. The Tills bring fresh herbs, garlic, dried herbs, mixes, marinades, teas, desserts, flower bouquets and dried flower bouquets to the market each week. According to Katey, the 2024 season “has been their best year yet. We’ve seen a noticeable increase in out-of-town visitors, and they absolutely love our farmers market and everything we have to offer. The vibrant, festive atmosphere really enhances the experience, helping us attract an even broader audience.”
Jason and Lynn Schrock are new to the market this season. Lynn said, “We are so excited to be coming to the Downtown Wabash Market. The market vendors and patrons are extremely friendly and helpful in our transition. We are planning on having a great selection of veggies for the patrons next season.”
Shopping the farmers market helps to support a local ecosystem of entrepreneurs. According to American Express, 67 cents of every dollar stays in the community when you shop local.
The Downtown Wabash Farmers Market is made possible by Bowen Health Clinic and Grow Wabash County.
