Judith M. ‘Judy’ Gilland
Judith M. “Judy” Gilland, 83, of Milford, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at Warsaw Meadows Nursing Home in Warsaw. She was born to Verl Zartman and Irene (May) Zartman-Bliton on Feb. 6, 1941, in Warsaw. On June 17, 1989, she married Raymond Gilland; he passed away on Feb. 6, 2002.
Judy was a lifelong area resident and worked for various local businesses as a seamstress. She had an interest in computers and took some courses at Ivy Tech to expand her knowledge on the subject. Judy loved the many friends she made at Leisure Living, and she really liked sitting under the gazebo visiting. She was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo, as well as purchasing the prizes for the bingo games. Judy was a member of Milford Christian Church.
Judy is survived by her son, Scott (Rhonda) Linville, of Milford; four grandchildren, Benjamin (Janet) Linville, Bonnie Bradley, Charity Henderson and Jeremy Linville; seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Blake, Bryson, Austin, Jordyn, Dakota and Kayleigh; two sisters, Jennie Blodgett, of Milford, and Nona Bliton, of Warsaw; a brother-in-law, Wayne Richardson, of Milford; loving and caregiving niece, Kathy Veach, of Milford; nieces, Shirley Camp, of Florida, Connie (Gaylon) Hunt, of Florida, and Jodie (Scott) Wallace, of Warsaw; and nephews, Rick Linville, of Milford, and Jack Linville and Donald Linville, both of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and three sisters, Betty Cannon, Nancy Linville and Barbara Richardson.
A funeral in honor of Judy will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 461 W. 900N, Milford, IN 46542. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
