Cynthia L. Hartzler — SERVICE UPDATE
Cynthia “Cindy” Lou Hartzler, 65, of Greentown, and formerly of Wabash and Akron, went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family at 2:42 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Community Howard Kokomo Hospital. She was born April 19, 1959, to Jerome Hartzler and Annetta (Flook/Hartzler) Robinette in Peru. She grew up outside of Gilead and was a Lukens Lake and Rock Lake Roller Rink kid.
She graduated from North Miami High School in 1977, a Warrior through and through. She worked at Hoosier Point Restaurant for 10 years in Wabash, Dana Corp. in Andrews, Karen’s in Rochester, and Holiday Inn Express in Wabash. Cindy was a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project. She was an avid Indiana Pacers fan. Cindy never knew a stranger. She was caring and had a big heart. She loved her family and friends. She liked to laugh and have fun. She was a hard worker. Her granddaughters and grand pup were her favorites.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Amanda E. (Alex) Powell, granddaughters Gretchen and Adeline “Addy” Powell, and grand pup, Evie, of Kokomo. Cindy is also survived by her brother, Jerry (Deb) Hartzler, and sister, Angie (Matt) Gast, both of Akron; and several nieces, nephews, close cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Todd “Harley” Hartzler.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Whitetail Woods Event Center, 886 N. Eel River Cemetery Road, Peru. Visitation will follow the service until 5 p.m.
The family requests friends and family provide a written memory that will be shared during the service.
