Nathan R. Brundage
Nathan Richard Brundage, of Winona Lake, passed away on Sunday morning, Sept. 8, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne at the age of 44. His friends call him “Big Nate,” and everyone knew that his heart was as large as he was.
He was born on March 30, 1980, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Susan Marie (Humberd) Brundage and Richard Morse Brundage. Nathan moved to the area as a child with his parents in 1983 and Kosciusko County was his home. He was a proud 1999 graduate of Lakeland Christian Academy in Winona Lake. Nathan always kept busy and once had worked part time at Burger King and Kroger’s.
Nathan enjoyed attending church with his family and all of his life he attended Grace Brethren churches — in Lexington, Ohio, Cuyahoga Fall, Ohio, and currently he had been attending Community Grace Church in Warsaw, where he could sing loud and proud, rejoicing to his Lord. God granted him a beautiful singing voice, and he had taken voice lessons since the age of 18. He sang at his sister’s wedding, sang duets with his father, Rick, and sang at various locations throughout the years.
Nathan lived a simple life and deeply loved his family, friends and special pets. He had a big heart for animals, and he especially loved his cat. Nathan loved God, and his favorite verse was John 3:16. He was always fascinated by the different shapes of the clouds in the sky and could often be found looking up at them. He is now enjoying the beauty of the clouds from a different angle and singing with his dad in the heavenly choir.
Nathan will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Susan Brundage, Winona Lake; sister, Noelle (Jim) Daley, Warsaw; nieces, Addisyn and Keira Daley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Rick Brundage, on March 17, 2023; and by his grandparents.
Nathan’s life will be celebrated with a service at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastors Reg Overstreet and Chuck Chappell. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to Lakeland Christian Academy, 1093 S. 250E, Winona Lake, IN 46590 and designated to The Joshua Class for special-needs students.
