Silver Lake Man Arrested For Allegedly Driving Under Influence With Three Children In Vehicle

WARSAW — A Silver Lake man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence while three children were in his vehicle.
David Scott Castro, 43, 9635 S. 675W, Silver Lake, is charged with operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.15 or more with a passenger under the age of 18 and three counts of neglect of a dependent, all level 6 felonies.
On Aug. 23, a Warsaw Police officer was patrolling Center Street when he saw a vehicle disregard a traffic control device. The officer pulled the vehicle over and identified its driver as Castro. Three children were passengers in the vehicle.
According to court documents, the officer noticed Castro was exhibiting physical signs of intoxication and also smelled alcohol in the vehicle. Castro admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.
Castro failed several field sobriety tests and tested 0.18% BrAC on a certified chemical test.
Castro has already been arrested and released on bond.
