Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, South SR 25, west of South CR 450W, Warsaw. Driver: Dylan J. Brown, 27, Parkway Lane, Rochester. Brown’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 12:04 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, North CR 675E, near East CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: Thomas L. Dunphey, 71, East CR 450N, Leesburg. Dunphey was attempting to go around a temporary road sign when he hit it in order to avoid a head-on collision with a northbound vehicle. Dunphey said the northbound vehicle did not allow him to pass. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:07 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, North CR 300E, near East CR 1050N, Milford. Driver: Roby B. Weed, 61, EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw. Weed’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole. Weed said he swerved off the roadway to avoid hitting a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:47 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, North SR 13, at the intersection of East CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Vega D. Janda, 18, West CR 800N, Larwill; Angel G. Hidalgo, 18, Salman Drive, Warsaw; and Natalie D. Conley, 26, East CR 75N, Warsaw. Janda was traveling south on SR 13 and was attempting to turn left onto CR 500N when she turned in front of Hidalgo’s vehicle. Conley’s vehicle was stopped at the intersection and Janda’s vehicle was pushed into hers after Janda’s vehicle hit Hidalgo’s. Damage up to $50,000.
- 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 481 EMS B37 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Robert E. Bramlett, 58, North 13th Street, Middletown. Bramlett was attempting to back his vehicle from a parking space when he hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:03 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, North Syracuse Webster Road, at the intersection of East CR 1200N, Syracuse. Drivers: Carole A. Pohl, 80, South Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse; and Jeremy L. Stookey, 47, North Woodland Drive, Syracuse. Pohl was attempting to make a right turn onto North Syracuse Webster Road when she hit Stookey’s vehicle. The impact from the collision sent Pohl’s vehicle backward into a nearby yard. Pohl then turned west, crossing the roadway and traveling through another yard before coming to a reset near a tree. Pohl passed out at the scene and was taken to Goshen General Hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
- 1:17 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, South CR 450W, at the intersection of West CR 350S, Warsaw. Drivers: Sarah J. Brumbaugh, 78, North CR 250E, Milford; and Elizabeth C. Przewoznik, 46, East Heritage Drive Apartment 16, Pierceton. Brumbaugh said she believed Przewoznik was slowing her vehicle at the intersection to stop at another mailbox and attempted to pass Przewoznik’s vehicle. However, Przewoznik was attempting to turn left and a collision occurred when Brumbaugh’s vehicle passed Przewoznik’s. Damage up to $10,000.
