Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Battering Woman, Child
Staff Report
MILFORD — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman and child.
Joshua Michael Baker, 35, 3970 E. 100N, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person under the age of 14, a level 5 felony; domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, both level 6 felonies; and two counts of domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On Aug. 21, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic battery incident at a Milford residence. The deputy spoke with a woman, who said she walked outside to meet Baker in a driveway.
According to court documents, when the woman asked Baker if he had a new girlfriend, Baker screamed at her and aggressively shoved a child toward her. He then allegedly punched the woman two times. During one of the instances, Baker hit the child while the woman was holding them. The deputy noticed red marks on the woman’s left cheek and red marks on the left side of the child’s face.
A second child at the scene said they heard yelling and saw Baker hit the woman in the face. They also heard the first child say Baker hit both them and the woman.
Baker told the deputy he did not put hands on anybody and denied the allegations.
Baker was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 21.
