Warsaw Woman Arrested For Battery

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after allegedly hitting a woman during a custody exchange.
Tiffany Nichols, 47, 521 N. Grant St., Warsaw, is charged with battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.
On July 28, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a fight near the police department. Upon arrival, the officer saw a woman with blood on her right cheek and knuckles. The woman was with several individuals, including Nichols.
According to court documents, the woman said all the adults were present for a custody exchange. At some point during the exchange, the woman and Nichols had a verbal argument which turned physical. Nichols pulled the woman’s hair, and the woman scratched Nichols’ face.
The woman also said Nichols hit her and requested an ambulance come to the scene since she was lightheaded.
Nichols told the officer the woman pushed her, and that Nichols pushed her back.
A witness recorded a video of the incident. Footage showed Nichols and the woman arguing. When the woman extended her hand out, the video showed Nichols hitting the woman in the face.
Nichols has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Sept. 12, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
