PIERCETON — A Pierceton man was arrested for allegedly battering a woman and locking her in a room for several minutes.
Phillip Lee Stoll, 45, 7103 E. US 30 Room 5, Pierceton, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and confinement, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery and resisting law enforcement, both class A misdemeanors.
On Aug. 9, a Pierceton Police officer spoke with a woman who said Stoll kicked her out of a residence. During their conversation, the officer noticed the woman was limping and appeared to be in pain.
According to court documents, the woman said she and Stoll had a verbal argument. When the woman went into a room to get away from him, Stoll allegedly locked the room’s door so she could not leave. The woman told Stoll to unlock the door but he refused to do so for about 10 minutes.
Once the door was unlocked, Stoll hit the back of the woman’s head and kicked her knee. This resulted in a lump on the woman’s head and swelling and bruising on her knee. She told the officer this was one of many incidents that occurred between her and Stoll.
In an interview with police, Stoll said the woman was a liar and did not comply with officers’ commands to put his hands behind his back. Stoll struggled with law enforcement, but was eventually taken into custody.
Stoll has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
