Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 2:41 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, South SR 15, at the intersection of West CR 900S, Silver Lake. Drivers: Mark H. Pollard, 63, East Cottonwood Court, Cornville, Ariz.; and Morgan R. Rautenkranz, 32, West CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Pollard was traveling east on West CR 900S when he failed to yield the right-of-way. His vehicle was hit by Rautenkranz’s. Rautenkranz said she would go to a hospital for further testing due to being pregnant. Damage up to $10,000.
• 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, East CR 650S, west of South CR 775E, Sidney. Driver: Neal J. Brown, 48, South CR 775E, South Whitley. Brown’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
• 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, South Country Club Road, at the intersection of Southgate Park, Warsaw. Driver: Courtney M. Larkin, 28, Chestnut Avenue Apartment 2, Winona Lake. Larkin’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting a Kosciusko REMC utility pole. The collision caused the utility pole to break in half. Wires from the broken pole then pulled a utility pole owned by Diana Barringa Marin, Warsaw. Larkin sustained minor head injuries and was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
• 3:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, East CR 75N, west of Timberline Circle, Warsaw. Driver: Aaron Boutcher, 38, North Shagbark Drive, Warsaw. A deer ran into the passenger side of Boutcher’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
• 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, West Union Street, west of South SR 15, Claypool. Driver: Paisley I. Clark, 18, West Union Street, Claypool. Clark’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
• 7:21 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, East Barrington Place, west of North Saddlebrook Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Parker A. Dippon, 16, Barrington Place, Warsaw; and Asia R. Pullin, 17, North Shagbark Drive, Warsaw. Dippon was traveling east on Barrington Place and was attempting to help his front seat passenger plug in his cellphone when his vehicle went into the opposite lane of travel. Dippon’s vehicle hit Pullin’s. The passenger in Dippon’s vehicle, Tanner Dippon, 14, Warsaw, complained of right shoulder and upper arm pain. He was taken to a hospital for further medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
• 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, East SR 14, east of South County Farm Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Randy J. Lemler, 58, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Lemler’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
• 6:43 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, East Armstrong Road, east of EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Ericka Haynes, 42, North Sullivan Road, Leesburg. Haynes’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
• 6:38 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, West Old Road 30, west of North CR 600W, Warsaw. Driver: Bobbie S. Maroney, 41, South SR 19, Mentone. Maroney’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
• 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, North SR 15, south of West CR 800N, Leesburg. Driver: Joan E. Lloyd, 47, Elkhart. A tire came off the bed of a nearby pickup truck, hitting Lloyd’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
• 12:19 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 4985 S. Packerton Road, Warsaw. Driver: Airamia A. Holland, 19, St. Joe Road Apartment 103A, Fort Wayne. Holland attempted to pass a motorcycle when her vehicle left the roadway, entering a yard at 4985 S. Packerton Road. Her vehicle hit a large wooden fence post. Damage up to $10,000.
