Coleman Arrested For Domestic Battery

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a person.
Chad Dalton Coleman, 33, 2463 Belmont Drive, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 30, Warsaw Police officers responded to a physical dispute involving Coleman, who had a knife. Officers spoke with Coleman, who said he threw the knife away at a Warsaw residence.
A man at the home said he noticed his personal items had been moved. He contacted Coleman and told him not to go through his belongings, which angered Coleman.
According to court documents, the man said he was in a room when Coleman entered, picked up a metal jack stand, and attacked him. He hit the man in the face multiple times with a closed fist and displayed a knife during the incident. Officers noticed the man’s right eye was swollen and bruised.
A woman at the scene said she heard the fight occurring and immediately left the scene with three children.
Coleman was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 30.
