WARSAW — Free music at one park and a free skate event at another are both coming up Friday evening, Aug. 2, courtesy of the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department.
At Central Park Plaza, the Lake Area Community Band will perform as part of the parks department’s weekly Summer Concert Series. The band will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. at the plaza, 225 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw.
Only a few weeks of the Summer Concert Series remain. Sponsors who help to make the series possible include the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Indiana Arts Commission, 107.3 WRSW, Willie 103.5 and News Now Warsaw.
Over at Mantis Skate Park, a Late Skate Glow Night will take place from 8-10 p.m., and all ages are welcome. Papa John’s pizza will be available to all participants. Participants also can bring an extra shirt with them and use free glow paint that will be available to decorate it. In addition, there will be giveaways for goodie bags, two Tony Hawk autographed photos and a Jimmy John’s gift card.
Helmets are required at all times at the skate park. A waiver and emergency contact forms must be on file to skate. Forms will be available to be completed by each participant or a parent/guardian if a form is not already on file.
