Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:

• 4:16 p.m. Thursday, July 18, West CR 1350N, near the intersection of North CR 1050W, Nappanee. Driver: Angle D. Pantoja Cervantes, 22, 18B Road, Tippecanoe. A horse and buggy driven by Sherry Jess, 20, Nappanee, was traveling east on West CR 1350N when its horse got spooked. The horse entered the westbound lane of travel and was hit by Pantoja Cervantes’ vehicle. Jess complained of back and leg pain. She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital. Pantoja Cervantes was checked by medics at the scene sand said he would go to a hospital on his own for further assistance. Damage up to $10,000.

Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

• 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, East SR 14 and South 1000E, Akron. Driver: Thomas W. Banks, 50, Roann. Hit deer.
• 8:12 a.m. Monday, July 29, South Wabash Road and South 500E, Rochester. Driver: Tierney M. Lloyd, 32, Rochester. Hit deer.
