Warsaw Man Arrested For OWI After Three-Vehicle Accident In Silver Lake

SILVER LAKE — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after being involved in a three-vehicle accident in Silver Lake.
Danny Lee Hale, 71, 1024 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least 0.08 but less than 0.15, a class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator and operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more with a prior conviction, both level 6 felonies.
On June 16, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a three-vehicle accident in Silver Lake. The accident resulted in damage to a utility pole, street sign, and a house on Jefferson Street.
The deputy spoke with Hale, who was driving one of the involved vehicles. According to court documents, Hale was exhibiting physical signs of intoxication. Hale admitted to having a few drinks of whiskey and said he did not have a driver’s license.
The deputy learned Hale’s driving status was as a habitual traffic violator. He tested 0.14% BrAC on a portable breath test.
Hale was previously convicted of OWI in Kosciusko County in December 2021. His driving privileges were also suspended for 10 years in February 2022.
Hale was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 19.
