Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Work Crew

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly using a firearm to threaten a work crew on Packerton Road.
Michael Curtis Hayden Miller, 47, 2078 S. Packerton Road, Warsaw, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and pointing a firearm and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, both level 6 felonies.
On July 16, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Winona Lake Police Department responded to a report of a man pulling a gun on a work crew on Packerton Road.
According to court documents, a man said he looked to his right when he saw a long rifle being pointed at him. The man said he ran to safety and yelled at the other work crew members to move.
Officers spoke with Miller, who said he “was done with (the work crew.)” Miller tested 0.3% BrAC on a portable breath test and said the firearm he used during the incident was loaded.
One of the work crew’s members said Miller cursed at the crew all morning and accused them of knocking over a pole onto Miller’s vehicle.
Miller was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 16.
