Lawrence Mock — UPDATED
Lawrence “Larry” Mock, age 93, of Syracuse, passed away at Goshen Hospital on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born to Roy and Cecilia Mock on June 12, 1931. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949 and soon after married his wife, Betty Bowers, on Sept. 25, 1953.
After high school, he served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1953. He went on to work as a tool and die maker, retiring from General Motors. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Legion Post 253 in North Webster.
Larry lived a remarkable life filled with love for the lake, having resided on Papakeechie Lake for several years. He and his wife, Betty, also spent many winters in Lakeland, Fla. Larry was a man of many talents and interests. Described a “jack-of-all-trades,” he found joy fishing and actively participated umpiring Little League baseball teams.
Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. A Life Celebration visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 20. At noon, the funeral service will begin. Burial will immediately follow at the Syracuse Cemetery, with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 253 and the U.S. Navy.
