Dog Dies In Friday Morning Silver Lake House Fire

SILVER LAKE — A dog has died after a house fire southeast of Silver Lake on Friday morning.
At 4:59 a.m. Friday, July 5, Silver Lake Fire Department received a report of a fully engulfed house fire at 2238 W. 1200S. Claypool and Sidney-Jackson Township Fire Departments responded with full assists.
Silver Lake Fire Chief John Conley said the house’s occupant was able to get out on their own, but their dog passed away in the fire.
The house has been deemed a total loss.
According to Kosciusko County Beacon GIS, the property is owned by Glen and Effie Allen.
