Moe Wright
David “Moe” Wright, 82, of Milford, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 20, 2024, at home as the result of natural causes. He was born on April 8, 1942, the son of Ulysses and Eunice (Woods) Wright in Prestonsburg, Ky. On March 19, 1966, he married Luz Soto Torres in Aguada, Puerto Rico.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Luz Wright, of Milford; a daughter, Logina A. (Jeff Sorensen) Vuittonet, of Milford; three grandchildren, Austin (Hannah Brown) Vuittonet, of Milford, Tonya (Kevin) Klinger, of Ohio, and Tae (Corey) Bell, of Florida; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Danny Wright, Milford, Sybil (Curt) Bradley, Florida, and Sylvia Wilson, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John “BJ” Wright; a grandson, Tony Vuittonet; and siblings, Wilma “Faye” Bradley, Ell “Doug” Wright, Jim Wright, Virginia Garza, Kenneth “Blackie” Wright and Robert Wright.
Moe graduated from high school in Kentucky and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He was a carpenter and worked for Commodore Homes and Gulf Stream for many years. Moe was a member of the American Legion and VFW Post 1342, both in Syracuse. He was very well known for restoring classic cars and eagerly devoted his time to doing so. Moe also enjoyed going for bike rides to get a cold beverage. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 pm Tuesday, June 25, at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W. 900N, Milford.
A graveside service will be held for Moe at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Milford Cemetery. Pastor Steve Wilson will officiate.
