Ursula Holderman — UPDATED

Ursula Holderman
Ursula Margot Paula Holderman, 91, of Warsaw, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord at 10:47 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.
In Berlin, Germany, on Oct. 12, 1932, Ursula was born to Gottlob Alfons and Antonie Fritz Ullrich. Growing up, she shared her childhood with a sister and three brothers.
With her German descent, Ursula possessed great wit and a strong constitution. She arrived in the USA in about 1954 after marrying the love of her life, David Holderman, while he was stationed in a district of Berlin known as Berlin-Lichterfelde.
Ursula was a talented woman of diverse interests. Her job as an interpreter at R.R. Donnelley of Warsaw was by far her favorite. Over the years, she continued her education at Indiana University at South Bend and Ivy Tech, taking classes to increase her marketability.
With a keen, discriminating eye, Ursula was an accomplished photographer gifted with capturing a variety of interesting subjects with the lens of her Nikon. There were many images of her children, landscapes and still life. She looked forward to Sunday mornings and attending services at the Warsaw Community Church.
Adventure was Ursula’s forte and traveling fulfilled her desire to explore. She conducted travel tours in Germany and Spain with her U.S. family and when her family from Germany visited the U.S. her favorite destinations were introducing them to Gatlinburg, Cherokee Mountains, Florida and Missouri. To relax, she enjoyed spirited games of euchre with family and friends.
During Ursula’s stay at Miller’s in Warsaw, she was appointed as “Queen of the Prom.” She so enjoyed her royal position and wore her tiara proudly.
Left to cherish Ursula’s memory are four sons: Rolf Holderman and wife Lisa, of Silver Lake, Nicholas “Ray” Holderman and wife Karen, of Etna Green, David Holderman and wife Laura, of Columbia, Tenn., and Daniel M. Holderman and wife Vickie, of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Kathrene Holderman Snyder and husband Sam, Kara Holderman Merrill and husband Joshua, Justin Holderman and wife Erin, Brian Holderman, Kristie Holderman Drew and husband Robert, and Nicole Holderman; 11 great-grandchildren, Holly, Tyler, Bo, Brice, Bella, Corbin, Aiden M., Asher, Thaddeus, Malachi and Abigail; great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Aiden and Axel; sister, Kathe Schmidt; nephew, Horst Schmidt; and a niece, Karin Pietsch, and husband Franz Juergen, all of Germany.
Preceding Ursula in death were her parents; husband, David Franklin Holderman; and three brothers, Heinz Karl Alfons Ullrich, Hans Joachim Ullrich and Alfons Klaus Ullrich.
A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
