Christian Musician West To Perform Saturday In Winona Lake
News Release
WINONA LAKE — Award-winning Christian musical artist Matthew West will be in concert Saturday, June 15, at the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center at Grace College in Winona Lake. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the concert starts at 7.
Billboard has called West “one of Christian music’s most prolific singer-songwriters.” He has been awarded Recording Industry Association of America gold and platinum certifications and notched 30 No. 1 songs combined as an artist and songwriter.
West is a five-time Grammy nominee; Nashville Songwriters Association International’s 2022 Songwriter-Artist of the Year; American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ 2023 Golden Note Award recipient; and a multiple ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year winner. He has received an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, K-Love Fan Awards, Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and has been named Billboard’s Hot Christian Songwriter of the Year. A recipient of the Rich Mullins Impact Award, West also received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for original music and lyrics for the title track for the feature film “The Heart of Christmas.”
In addition to his own recording career, he has co-hosted the K-Love Fan Awards seven times and has more than 250 songwriting credits to his name, including cuts by Anne Wilson, Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Mandisa, Danny Gokey, Casting Crowns and others. He has 15 studio albums under his belt, the latest released in 2023, a double album, “My Story Your Glory.” Composed of 22 tracks, the first part of the double album, “My Story,” embodies stories fans have shared with the songwriter over the years as well as personal experiences and the second part, “Your Glory,” marks his first official gospel worship album. West’s most recent single, “Don’t Stop Praying,” released earlier this year, marks his biggest streaming single debut in his 20-year career.
Adding author to his list of accolades, West has written six books to date: “Give This Christmas Away,” “The Story of Your Life,” “Forgiveness,” “Today is Day One” and his latest, “Hello, My Name Is” and “The God Who Stays,” with two more slated to release in 2024. He is also passionate about providing hope and healing through the power of prayer and story. Along with his father, Pastor Joe West, they founded “popwe,” a non-profit ministry helping others to craft, share and live a more meaningful life.
Tickets for West’s concert start at $25 and may be purchased at itickets.com or by calling (574) 267-0969. For more information or to order group tickets, visit allowingchristtoshine.org.
