Janice Winters
Janice Winters, age 80, of North Webster, passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, June 2, 2024, at The Waters in Syracuse. She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in West Virginia, to Frank and Sylvia Thompson. She married her husband, Frank Winters, on Nov. 1, 1958. In 1964, she moved to the North Webster community, where she and her husband raised their family.
She attended the Country Bible Church for many years. Janice had a passion for baking and was especially renowned to her family for her fudge and biscuits and gravy.
In her leisure time, Janice enjoyed indulging in simple pleasures like shopping on QVC and Walmart. She also loved to watch her favorite soap operas — “Days of Our Lives” and “The Young and The Restless.” You could also find her enjoying numerous concerts, where she had the incredible opportunity to meet Conway Twitty, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn in person — a dream come true for her.
Janice will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Frank (Sonia) Winters and James Winters, all of North Webster. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren, Nicholas, Nicole, Madison and Austin; and great-grandchildren Adrian, Collin, Sophia, Donna and Aurora. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Winters, who passed in December 2013; her parents; and her siblings, Lonnie Thompson and Wilma Cassidy.
A Life Celebration to honor Janice’s life will be held at Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8056 E. 500N, North Webster. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 8, followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Mock Addition, North Webster Cemetery.
