Lance Allen Parker, 50, of rural Silver Lake, passed unexpectedly at 2:37 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
Lance Parker was born on June 28, 1973, in Wabash, to parents Lynn and Dianna Kay (Allen) Parker. He spent his childhood on the farm, enjoying football, hunting and fishing. He graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1991.
He purchased the Silver Inn in Silver Lake on New Year’s Eve 2002 and owned and operated it for 20 years. After selling the bar, he recently opened another establishment called Road Dogz, which was his pride and joy. Besides his businesses, he was a former volunteer at the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the Northern Bass Anglers.
Lance loved to collect things, especially rare whiskey bottles and bar memorabilia. He was known for his unique sense of style, always dressing in a way that suited the occasion, whether it was to make people smile or to look sharp.
Lance will be remembered for his wide range of interests and the surprises he brought into his friends and family’s lives.
He is survived by his wife, Jodi Stouder; stepchildren, Kain (Faith) Slone, Cali Stouder and Talan Stouder; mother, Dianna Kay Parker, of Silver Lake; siblings, Alicia Parker (Justin Davis), of Silver Lake, Josh (Lichelle) Parker, of Silver Lake, Kalynn (Brian) Cumberland, of Winona Lake, Malinda Miller, Claypool, Keith (Jessi) Parker, of Bicknell, Rachel (Jeremiah) Haney, of Akron, Rebekah Parker (Tasia Smith), of Warsaw, Jerrod (Amber) Parker, of Warsaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lance was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Parker, on March 25, 2021.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
The interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Visitation hours will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Tippecanoe Valley Booster Club.
