Lake Dewayne “Sonny” Carpenter, 85, Bourbon, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 30, 1939. On Aug. 30, 1958, he married Elizabeth Faye Lozier, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children, David E. (Penny) Carpenter, Bourbon, Jack L. (Amanda Hayes) Carpenter, Winona Lake, Dawn L. (Jerry) Bethel, Indianapolis, and Regina F. (Chris) Dance, Richmond; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Don Carpenter, Claypool; and half-sisters, Peggy Bause, Warsaw, Merle (Dale) Kreh, Mattawan, Mich., and Judy Cole, Bourbon.
