WARSAW — During an April 22 board meeting, it was announced that Warsaw Community Schools’ Board of Trustees has been recognized by the Indiana School Boards Association for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to professional learning and student success.

They were formally recognized at the 2024 Spring Regional Meeting of the Indiana School Boards Association with the Commendable Board Award.

Board awards are based on points earned by each member for attending ISBA seminars, workshops, conferences and other learning events, as well as the board’s completion of additional criteria, such as a retreat with an outside facilitator and goal setting to elevate student achievement outcomes. This award reflects the dedication of the WCS board members, whose combined efforts work to advance the quality of education within WCS.

In addition, two board members received individual recognition for their participation at various ISBA-sponsored events and activities. Brad Johnson was honored with the Level 3 Distinguished Award and Randy Polston received the Level 2 Advanced Award, underscoring their proactive involvement and contribution to the school board.

“WCS is grateful and thankful for the continued dedication of our board members through the Indiana School Boards Association,” said WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert. “Our WCS board members spend many hours outside of the board room understanding the legal requirements along with the best ways to support the students, teachers and community.”
