WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman at a local hotel.
Dustin Jay Rink, 32, 1657 S. Redwood Road, Warsaw, is charged with strangulation and battery, both level 6 felonies.
On April 13, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a battery at a hotel. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer noticed a woman with red marks on the left side of her neck.
According to court documents, the woman said she was in a room with Rink and a child when Rink approached the child in an aggressive manner. The woman pushed Rink away from the child to protect them when Rink allegedly grabbed the woman’s throat and pushed her against a wall. She said she blacked out for a second due to Rink’s actions.
Rink told the officer he argued with the woman about the child. He said he placed his hand on the woman’s neck and pushed her against a wall in order to get his phone. Rink denied squeezing the woman’s neck.
Rink was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 13, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
