MILFORD — Milford Town Council held a special meeting Friday, April 19 to square away a few details following their purchase of a new fire engine.
The council approved the purchase of decals for the fire engine from Mitch Hollar of T3 Marketing.
They also approved switching over the radio equipment from the department’s old fire engine to the new one at a cost not to exceed $2,200. J&K Communications will be providing the service, along with new charges for portable radios.
The last purchase the council approved was two new 6 inch outlet valves for the fire engine from Hoosier Fire for $4,860. There are two of these valves, which connect to suction hoses, on each truck. Some debate was had over whether the old truck’s valves should be sold or kept in case of emergency. The decision was tabled for the next meeting.
The Milford Fire Department will be receiving the new truck Tuesday, April 23.
In other business, the council accepted a settlement for the 2019 Dodge Durango police vehicle that was totaled in an accident on March 3. The settlement for the vehicle and its contents — including radio, radar, tablet, docking station and printer — came to $40,017.19 from EMC Insurance.
