Warsaw Man Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Firearm, Drugs

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly possessing a firearm illegally.
Austin Lee Waller, 29, 215 E. Smith St., Warsaw, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a level 4 felony; possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony.
On Nov. 22, 2023, a Warsaw Police officer received information about Waller having an active felony warrant from Whitley County for his arrest. Officers received information that Waller was in a vehicle leaving Walmart and pulled him over, arresting him on the warrant.
According to court documents, upon searching the vehicle Waller was in, officers found drug paraphernalia, needles, several small plastic bags, one gram of meth, a handgun, and a notebook containing information about quantities of drugs and prices.
Waller has prior convictions for dealing meth, possessing meth, and possessing a syringe from Whitley County.
After being transferred from the Indiana Department of Correction for a separate case, Waller was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 10, 2024.
