SIDNEY — A South Whitley man is dead after a two-vehicle accident south of Sidney on Monday evening.

At 5:55 p.m. Monday, April 15, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of South SR 13 and CR 1000S. Personnel arrived on scene and located a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Jason R. Jones, 24, South Whitley; and a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Susan A. Lewis, 61, North Manchester.

Preliminary investigation determined Jones was traveling east on CR 1000S and failed to yield, pulling into Lewis’ path of travel. Lewis was traveling south on SR 13 at the time.

Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene by Kosciusko County Coroner Tyler Huffer as a result of injuries he sustained in the motor vehicle accident.

Lewis was taken by ground ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital for complaints of pain to her lower body.

KCSO was assisted at the scene by the Pierceton Police Department, Silver Lake Police Department, Sidney Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office, and Raven’s Wrecker Service.
