Gregory A. Shue — UPDATED

Greg Shue
Gregory A. “Gopher” Shue, of Oswego, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born in Warsaw on Sept. 18, 1949, to Ira and Marjorie (Geiger) Shue.
He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1968 before pursuing further education at the International Junior Business College in Fort Wayne. Greg’s career was memorable, spanning 24 years at Zimmer and later transitioning to Miller Manufacturing in Nappanee, where he worked until his retirement in 2011.
Known for his caring and compassionate nature, Greg touched the lives of many with his unwavering love for everyone around him. He took pride in his family, considering them to be his proudest accomplishment. In his free time, he cherished moments spent with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite space was his garage, which his grandkids called “Grandpa’s Garage.” The river behind the house also provided a place of solace all through his life. Greg was also a lifetime Colts (beginning with them in Baltimore and winning the first Indiana lottery for season ticket holder) and White Sox fan since delivering newspapers as a kid. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Syracuse for more than 25 years.
Greg will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: his beloved wife of 37 years, Dawn Shue (Miller), of Oswego; daughter, Melanie (Eric), of North Webster; son, Benjamin (Kamby), of Fort Wayne; stepson, Jeremy Zarse, of Syracuse; stepdaughter, Jolisa (Matthew) Krygier, of Noblesville; along with 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeremiah Kenton Shue; and brother, David (Roe Hoe) Shue.
Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with the care of Greg and his family. Friends and family may gather for visitation from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the funeral home, 8056 E. 500N, North Webster.
