Registration Open For Summer Camps At Bethel Campus In Mishawaka
News Release
MISHAWAKA — Registration is open for Pilot Summer Academy, Bethel University’s academic camps.
Pilot Summer Academy provides students, ages 9-17, the opportunity to explore their interests, experience education in a college environment and spend time learning about themselves and the opportunities available to them. In partnership with Indiana Youth Programs on Campus, Bethel University is offering academic arts and sciences day camps, along with a residential nursing camp and a college introduction camp.
Science, technology, engineering arts and mathematics — or STEAM — camps will take place July 15-19, for ages 9-12, and July 22-26, for ages 13-17, on Bethel’s campus. The first week includes theater, graphic art, studio art, engineering and chemistry. The second week includes musical theater, graphic arts and studio art.
“Give It a Shot: Intro to Nursing Residential Camp” will take place June 18-20 on Bethel’s campus. This immersive experience for grades 10-12 will include real simulations, local hospital visits and hands-on experiences, while students stay in the dorms and eat meals in the dining commons.
“Pilot Preparation: Intro to College Camp” will take place June 24-28 and is for students in grades 9-12. This camp has been designed for all students to explore their interests and receive tips and training on navigating applications, scholarships and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. Campers will learn about careers in business, sports management, sign language and more. Plus, they will hear from Bethel faculty leaders, current students, recent graduates and local community leaders in an immersive weeklong camp.
Bethel also has announced that scholarships will be available this year for students residing in St. Joseph County, Ind. Thee scholarships will be based on need and can be applied for using the registration form on the website.
