Whitko Names Students Of The Month For April
News Release
LARWILL — The Whitko Community Schools system has named its students of the month for April.
Addison Holbrook
Addison Holbrook is Whitko’s Senior High student of the month. Holbrook, a junior, was nominated by the Junior-Senior High School’s office staff. They said: “Addison is always polite and has a smile on her face when we see her in the office. She is eager to help.”
Chloe Keen
Whitko Junior High’s student of the month is Chloe Keen. Teacher Mike Hanback nominated the eighth-grade student. He said: “Very quietly, and without any fanfare, Chloe does what she is supposed to do: good student, polite young lady, great work ethic, respectful to all. Oh yeah, she is also an athlete. These are all qualities which foretell a great future for this young woman.”
Ryan Rose
The Whitko Career Academy student of the month is Ryan Rose. Rose is a sophomore student in Angie Irwin’s Early Childhood Education class. “Ryan always comes prepared to class,” Irwin said. “He is eager to learn about the teaching profession. He always participates in class discussions with excellent questions and [insights] about his experience in his host classroom. His peers look up to him and are encouraged and motivated because of Ryan’s dedication and professionalism in the classroom and in his host classroom. I enjoy having Ryan in my class. Should Ryan choose to pursue an education degree, he will make an excellent teacher.”
Kylee Contreras
Kylee Contreras is South Whitley Elementary School’s student of the month.
“Kylee Contreras comes to school each day with a smile and gets ready for the day quickly,” said her first-grade teacher, Angie Tranter. “She is the first student to follow directions and waits quietly for others to follow suit. Kylee is growing in math and works hard to meet her power goals in reading every day. Kylee deserves to be recognized as the SWE student of the month for April.”
Caeden Green
Pierceton Elementary School’s student of the month is Caeden Green.
“Caeden is respectful and trustworthy,” said nominating fifth-grade teacher Samantha Pauwels. “He continues to persevere and work hard on all lessons throughout the day. Caeden is also dependable. I can depend on him to make the right choices and be respectful at all times.”
Jaxon Coy
Jaxson Coy is Whitko Early Learning Center’s student of the month.
“When Jaxon first started attending Little Cats he was a very shy boy; each and every day I see him coming out of his shell more and more. He is always willing to help a friend if they are struggling and loves interacting with his other classmates whether it’s a small group or free play time. Jaxon is a joy to have in the classroom, and I’m looking forward to seeing more growth as we progress in the school year. “
Jaxon was nominated by teacher Jillian Starkweather.
