North Webster Community Public Library — Join NWCPL’s Spirit Week During National Library Week

NORTH WEBSTER — National Library Week is a time-honored tradition dedicated to celebrating the vital role that libraries play in our communities. As part of this annual celebration, the North Webster Community Public Library invites patrons to participate in Library Spirit Week with daily dress-up themes. Starting with Fun Hat Day on Monday, Crazy Sock Day on Tuesday, Beach Day on Wednesday, Slipper Day on Thursday and culminating with Dress Like Your Younger Self Day on Friday, the week promises to be an exciting celebration of library spirit.

Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at North Webster Community Public Library. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
The North Webster Library will be hosting an eclipse viewing party from 1:45-4:15 p.m. Monday, April 8. Bring your own lawn chairs and join us out on the lawn to safely view the total eclipse with special glasses. The library will have a variety of crafts and other activities available during that time, plus there will be solar viewing glasses to share during the time of the eclipse.
Meditation Monday will be happening at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 8. Come learn relaxation techniques and coping mechanisms for life’s stressors from Karrah Teruya.
Come make a decoupaged bird house at the Adult Craft Class this week. Class is free and all materials are provided, but registration is required. Register by calling the library at (574) 834-7122.
Exercise classes will be happening at the library this week. Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, April 4. Let’s Move Dance class will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4. These classes are free and open to the public, no library card required.
Teen Events
Join in for a special Teen Café at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 8. NWCPL will be hosting a teen video game night for students in grades 6-12. Come to the library to hang out with friends and enjoy video games and snacks.
Children’s Events
Interactive Life-Sized Candy Land is still going on at the North Webster Library this week. Come to the children’s department and enjoy this immersive classic board game. Play in groups of up to eight, first-come, first-serve.
Certified therapy dog, Irish, will be waiting for you during the PAWS-to-Read program on Monday, April 8 from 5:30–6:30 pm. This event provides a comfortable and judgment-free zone for kids to read and interact with Irish. Sign up for a 15-minute appointment by calling the library at (574) 834-7122.
Story times will be happening this week at NWCPL. Baby and toddler time will be meeting at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9. Preschool Storytime will be meeting at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10. Registration is appreciated, but visitors are always welcome.
LEGO Time will be happening at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13. Builders ages 5-12 are invited to come to the library for an hour of freestyle LEGO building fun.
