ATWOOD — A Plymouth woman was taken to a South Bend hospital after a single-vehicle accident in Atwood early Friday morning.
At 12:51 a.m. Friday, April 5, emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident at East Main Street, at the intersection of North Wray Street in Atwood.
According to an accident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Tasha Livinghouse-Alexander, 48, Plymouth, was traveling east on Main Street in a silver 2010 Mitsubishi Galant. Her vehicle left the roadway while on a curve, sideswiping one tree and hitting a second tree.
After hitting the second tree, Livinghouse-Alexander’s vehicle overturned onto its roof. A speed limit sign was damaged in the accident as well.
A deputy at the scene said Livinghouse-Alexander appeared to have substantial injuries to her facial region, including abrasions and swelling in her jaw area. She was unable to pinpoint a certain location that was suffering from pain rather than just her whole body.
Livinghouse-Alexander was taken to a hospital in South Bend.
The report states Livinghouse-Alexander had been consuming alcoholic beverages and an investigation for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated is being conducted.
Responding agencies include KCSO, Atwood Fire Department, and Lutheran EMS.
Damages are estimated up to $25,000.
